Project goals: to elaborate mechanism for quality improvement in medical education, through modernization and implementation of basic clinical skills curriculum in accordance with standards of World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and World Health Organization (WHO).
Project objectives:
to improve the curriculum of Clinical skills and its teaching/learning materials and tools in function of WFME standards;
to reinforce existing structures (Clinical skills Centers) for the improvement of university courses in the field of Patient Safety;
to build educational capacities in the beneficiary country HEIs.
Activities:
development of training programs and train-the-trainer sessions;
improvement of educational framework through the development of computer-assisted technology for teaching and learning;
development of website for promotion the project activities and results, training courses, dissemination and exploitation activities;
establishment of Basic Clinical Skills platform to offer consulting services, that will be connected through a regional network of practitioners that will allow for distance consultations and will assist to reinforce the public healthcare system in the beneficiary countries.
Expected results:
I. Improvement of patient safety through increased quality and higher clinical qualification of future medical staff by third country HEIs.
II. Raising awareness and motivation to improve educational processes and to increase the quality of medical education.
III. Contribution to the initiation of sustainable dialogue on quality improvements of medical HEIs among relevant stakeholders.
IV. Clinical skills centers at HEIs, will offer consulting services to adjoining clinics, medical associations or other individual or collective bodies who may want to benefit from them.
